Constant economic growth fuels more consumption and CO2 emissions. Many interventions that seek to break this cycle aim at changing our consumption patterns. But CDE’s project “Time is wealth” proposed a different entry point. It looked at whether reducing our working hours could enable a triple gain: better quality of life, fairer societies, and reduced CO2 emissions. A CDE team investigated how this could work, revitalizing the debate about working hours in Switzerland. Their contribution was echoed in Swiss media.
