EU funds for research on pesticides, water stress, and biodiversity

In 2020, CDE expanded its collaboration with the EU research programme in three new projects: The project SPRINT aims to develop an integrated approach for assessing the impacts of pesticide mixtures on the health of ecosystems, plants, animals, and humans, and to identify pathways for transitioning to more sustainable farming practices. The project OPTAIN seeks to identify the most efficient and easy-to-implement techniques for retention and reuse of water and nutrients in small agricultural catchments. And the project SHOWCASE aims to achieve a breakthrough in integrating biodiversity into farming, with CDE leading a component that strives to find solutions for trade-offs between agriculture and management of predators.
